Everyone should have a good, dependable sugar cookie recipe for the holidays. Here’s mine!

Prep Time: 50 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes
Total Time: 1 Hour
Servings: 2 dozen

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder

Instructions:

  1. Cream butter; gradually add sugar.

  2. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; cream well.

  3. Sift flour and baking powder together, and add.

  4. Cover and chill for 10 minutes.

  5. Roll and cut into desired shapes.

  6. Bake at 400* until very light brown.

  7. Let stand for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool.

    Note: May be frosted or left plain.
