What Time is Check In?

Our guests typically check in between 3:00p.m. and 7:00p.m. We’ll ask for your anticipated arrival time when you make your reservation, so that we can arrange our schedule to greet you when you arrive. If you come to town early, please call us – we’ll be happy to accommodate early check in when possible, or store your luggage, if not. If your room is not yet ready, you’re welcome to come in and relax in our front parlor or on the front porch. If you find that your plans change and you won’t check in around the time scheduled, please let us know by calling us at 217/245-1013. If arriving outside the standard check-in hours, please let us know in advance.

Where do We Park?

Please park on the street directly in front of our inn when you first arrive, then ring the bell and enter through the front double doors. You may bring your bags in with you or wait until after you’ve had the opportunity to become familiar with our inn. The paved driveway along the west side leads to the off-street parking located directly behind our B&B.

What if We Arrive Early?

We encourage you to contact our Jacksonville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau in advance of your stay. They’ll help you plan your visit and will provide a complimentary Visitor Discount Card for shopping and dining while you’re in town. The staff is very knowledgeable about our community, and they provide many brochures. If you get to town early, plan to stop in at the Bureau to learn more about our town. Tell them Blessings on State Bed & Breakfast sent you and receive a free gift. The Bureau is located at 310 East State Street in downtown Jacksonville and is open Monday – Friday. Do you Have a Concierge?

We’ll be happy to share our recommendations for local sightseeing, shopping and restaurants. We offer tear-off maps of the area with historic homes walking tours along with various brochures and flyers. We’re happy to help you plan your driving route, and we have a full business center if you need to print your boarding pass.

What If We Must Plan a Late-Night Arrival or Early Departure?

Please contact us in advance by phone or text to arrange for check in after 9:00p.m. If you are planning an early morning departure, please let us know and we’ll prepare a light Breakfast to Go.

What If We Have Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

If you have any allergies or other dietary restrictions, please let us know when you make your reservation. Prefer a lighter, more health-conscious menu? Let us know in advance, and we’ll do everything we can to meet your dietary requests. Please note that although we’re happy to prepare gluten-free breakfasts we not a gluten-free facility.

Do You Allow Smoking?

Blessings on State is a Smoke-Free Bed & Breakfast. Smoking, including vaping, is never permitted inside the inn, in the gazebo or on the porches. Please note that the Smoke-free Illinois Act prohibits smoking in virtually all public places including restaurants, bars, theaters, museums, enclosed shopping centers and retail stores.
